  September 23, 2012 - Purple with medium viscosity and full of sediment. Rustic nose of black currant, coffee, mushroom, earth, pipe tobacco and cedar. Secondary spearmint and pine. Medium body and nuanced with black fruit, earth, coffee, spice, tobacco, mushroom and olive on the palate. Mild complexity along with a solid backbone. Medium finish. Mix of old and new world character and food friendly.

  July 7, 2011 - Garnet ink with medium viscosity in the glass. Pepper, cedar, blueberry and raspberry on the nose. Secondary burnt toast and hide. Medium/full bodied on the palate with gobs of pepper, blueberry, raspberry and plum. Secondary cranberry and earth. Sturdy acidic backbone and grippy tannin. Medium/long finish. Would be living large pairing this with a good hamburger.

  January 27, 2011 - Dark, dark purple. Luscious nose. First taste caught me off guard - I expected something fruitier. This wine really needs food to cut the intensity. Mellowed out on the second day, but still has some dryness/acidity/harshness that isn't quite working for me.
