July 16, 2011 - One of those Sam's oddities that one would find on the back-shelf at a nicely reduce price; unfortunately those days are gone. Fortunately, some of the bottles still remain on my shelf. A pleasing straw-gold, a more pleasing aroma with a patina of age, some citrus rind; on the palate, plenty of bracing acidity, oak, citrus flavors, minerality, towards lean. Chardonnay can be a bore if over-ripe and flabby; but in Meursault this is hardly ever the case.
