September 28, 2019 - Decanted for an hour. Very nice, with good aromas of violets, lilacs, and some pretty heavy fruit. the palate followed with excellent dark fruit, good tannins, very tasty. I don't have much experience with Barolos, but I'd say this is in a more modern style. Very good in any case!

April 2, 2018 - Yet another one of these that was partially corked. So disappointing. Totally undrinkable on Day 1, but slightly better and actually tolerable on Day 2. I am through with Corino, Clerico, Seghesio, Ratti and other producers of "modern" style Barolo. Ora basta!

March 14, 2018 - 2005 GIOVANNI CORINO BAROLO- BLIND: at first, I got a veggie component in the nose, but fortunately it dissipated and gave way to decent fig, date and plum notes; as with the nose, the taste improved with time and I found some blueberry and blackberry as well; it was light to medium in body and expression.

September 22, 2017 - Another spectacular showing of this wine. Deep, majestic, a velvet red. Bursting of sweet cherries in the nose. Luscious and thick... rolling in the mouth. A long, broad finish. Impossible to put down once the glass is in hand.

March 25, 2017 - First one of these in almost a year-and-a-half. Was somewhat apprehensive, given multiple, prior experiences with corking. Glad to find that this one was just fine. So rich, opulent and delicious. Opened fully after only about 45 minutes, revealing all of its ts ripe, mouth-watering cherry and raspberry fruit. Slightly chewy on the long, lip-smacking finish, where notes of spice and oak linger gently. Paired beautifully with the lamb shanks that Kerry's Mom made. An excellent Barolo, made in the "Modern" style.

September 4, 2016 - A replica of the last tasting 31/2 years ago, echoing my high praise for this wine (see notes). I felt that the wine had about 5 years left in it -- no signs of fading or flaws emerging yet. If you have any of this, open it up!

October 11, 2015 - Partially corked, but still drinkable. Was actually OK with our rib roast. These "modern" style Barolos (Corino, Ratti, Seghesio) seem very susceptible to corking. I am finding these are flawed about 25% of the time.

January 24, 2015 - Lots of dark fruits on the nose. Dark color. Earth and leather notes appear along with the fruits with a finish that is still fairly tight. Was great with a grilled pork chop and a nice contrast to some "new world" reds drunk during the dinner. I would have preferred to let this breathe a bit more and think this could get a bit better, but is ready to drink.
