March 20, 2014 - This is OK. Slightly dirty and bitter, but OK. Weird fizz.
November 9, 2012 - Iron, rust, licorice, cherry, honey. Can you ask for a more interesting wine? Purchased during an anniversary wine tour. A surprising delight.
November 6, 2011 - see previous notes
November 6, 2011 - no formal notes--didn't enjoy it tho--prob wouldn't even cook with it
December 9, 2009 - Frizzante like the first.
December 8, 2009 - Wines In A Line: December - Spanish Oddballs (chez moi): When I opened it, I got the brett but w/ my cold got inured to it. Mark, in fact, dumped his. I found it acidic and not in balance.
September 12, 2009 - I echo the previous tasting notes...this was a flawed bottle that carried a fizz on the initial attack and had nothing to follow. It was almost as if the bottle was going through a second fermintation process. The only reason I purchased this bottle was because it was recommended by the wine merchant where I bought it. This isn't the first time I've popped a bottle like this, and it is so aggravating when you've been looking forward to trying something new; fortunately it was only $10.00.
July 10, 2009 - Very interesting nose - a hint of menthol but an overall smell that reminds me of a great german or belgian doppel bock, but on the palate I have to assume this bottle is bad. It has almost zero flavor and an annoying frizzante to it. Down the drain!
May 1, 2009 - strange frizzante action, new world, pretty decent for under $7
July 18, 2008 - Brought to a party so no formal notes. Most striking aspect was nose, which was earthy and a bit barnyard. Smooth and balanced on the palate, decent finish. Decent wine (especially for price), but I would not seek it out.
