January 13, 2017 - Cherry nose, berry, chewy tannins. Long finish. Nice super Tuscan.
June 29, 2014 - Delicious with dusty cellar, herbs and dark fruit. Excellent structure given the price, this was excellent and drinking fantastically.
June 17, 2014 - Would definetly hold this one longer. Still closed up with tight herbal flavors and a fair amount of oak. It could become great, but it's got to sit many more years.
October 2, 2013 - Solid for the price. Seems that the fruit has faded a bit compared to other vintages, but this had a nice Italian profile that went well with pasta.
December 28, 2012 - Deep garnet; gamey & an attractive rusticity, medium/full bodied. Balanced, a 'food' wine drinking well now.
March 18, 2012 - - Garnet color and aromas of mint, black currant, licorice anise and oak. It's balanced with a medium body. Smooth texture with a medium finish - Decanted 2 hours and consumed over two days. Very old world in style subtle but really nice the herbal / oaky elements are more prominent definitely has the stuff to age well.
October 20, 2011 - Good QPR wine that went perfectly with the spaghetti with red pepper alfredo sauce.
May 27, 2011 - Strong oak and tannins, yet this wine is smooth with a long finish. As the wine opens up, the nose gives way to cedar, tar, and cigar. This wine is pleasant drinking.
February 11, 2011 - Very good QPR for a Super Tuscan that leans rustic on the nose. This showed damp cellar and earthy notes along with bright fruit in the nose. The body had great balance with modest acid, little to no obvious new oak, dark cherry and raspberry wrapped in earthy elements. The finish is pleasant but fairly short and a bit drying (though the tannins are moderate). Drank about the same two nights later (having been suctioned).
August 14, 2010 - Tight curranty nose - bitter almonds, fennel, blackberries. On palate, tight and structured - very Italian in mouth feel. Good length and balance. Classy fruit flavors - bordeaux-like in size and could be mistaken for one except for a slight bitterness on the finish. A fine wine that will age. Very nice.
