December 15, 2018 - A little tired perhaps. Can't vouch for the storage conditions.

  • drbob5 Likes this wine: 92 points

January 28, 2018 - dusty tannins, black fruit, chocolate tobacco flavors develop with airing

  • peterag Does not like this wine: 88 points

March 7, 2017 - Brown color of old rioja, almost of a tawny port. Wine started to deconstruct but you can still enjoy it if you like mature chateau neuf du pape

  • Big Bad Voodoo Daddy Likes this wine: 89 points

August 12, 2016 - Have to agree with some reviewers that this wine is losing body and should be drunk up now. Good plonk nonetheless. Traditional funk upon opening that blew off quickly. Sadly the fruit faded quickly, and I found myself guzzling it in the end.

  • La Cave d'Argent Likes this wine: 90 points

July 4, 2015 - From a pristinely cellared bottle, this wine now shows a deep garnet/amber robe and a fully evolved aroma/flavor profile. Nutmeg, sage, black olive, tobacco and dry earth surround a core of ripe black raspberry. Full-bodied and with good acidity (especially for the vintage), its tannins are now fully resolved. As such, the wine is very round when served at 60-65° F, a temperature range which is crucial for avoiding alcoholic heat. Solid in the middle and medium-to-long on the finish, this fully mature Châteauneuf should be consumed in the near term, as it is likely beginning its decline. Drink now-2016.
