January 7, 2022 - ABV: 14.0%. The nose opens up with herbs (I'm detecting sage), white pepper, iron-like minerality, and a hint of red fruit. It opens up after about an hour with notes of black fruits that translate to the palate with blackberries, plums, and prunes. There's also a noticeable savory/umami-like profile that carries over and lingers in the finish. The remaining tannin level tells me that it can keep for another 5 years. Although I think this is a well-made wine, it just wasn't the profile that I personally enjoy. However, I think pairing this wine with some steak and chimichurri sauce will change my mind.

December 24, 2021 - A little light for our taste. May also be at the end of its life. Was good with food.

August 15, 2018 - Full bodied with very ripe cherry and dried cranberries, and dust flavours. Balanced with good structure and medium length and pleasant finish. Stellar QPR.

November 4, 2017 - olives, dark fruits, balsamic notes, balanced acidity, much more than expected, great wine!

November 10, 2015 - This has topped out I'm sure, but still drinking well. Paired nicely with our baked spaghetti dinner. A dark, inky color in the glass, pours ruby red with purple rims. Black fruit, some hints of cracked pepper. Needed some air to firm up, but by the second glass things were humming along. Medium body and finish.
