August 22, 2017 - This is a great wine, drinking well in 2017. It's supposed to be the DR Stephens Junior Varsity wine, but I think it's outstanding.

March 11, 2014 - Deep purple. Nose starts with blackberries and cassis, then layered notes of mocha and toasty oak. On the palate rich and opulent. Sophisticated tannins, beautiful texture and nice length. This will keep well for further 8 - 10 years. Great.

January 4, 2014 - wine certainly got better with air, but even on the 2nd day seemed either past it's prime or closed. Fruit was hidden, certainly not up to other posters experiences.

May 21, 2013 - Intriguing nose of blackberry, cherry, mocha, vanilla and dark chocolate. No jammy notes or overcooked fruit here. On the palate very elegant and smooth with medium tannin. Very pure and precise fruit expression. The high alcohol levels (14.8%) were very well masked by appropriate tannins and acidity. Finishes long. Outstanding.
