May 11, 2023 - Bricking at edge. A monumental wine. Deeply saturated flavors of cherry, licorice, and earthy notes, saddle leather. All in balance except for the alcohol, which is hot. Tannins resolved. Ready to drink. Decant for 20 minutes to open it up.

September 16, 2021 - Luis Italian Wine Tasting at Broder's: Decanted one hour plus another hour of slo O before pouring - I am not a big Nebbiolo fan, but this one was actually in my wheelhouse! I thoroughly enjoyed this wine, and I found it more than palatable! Nose showed roses, cherry, leather and earth. Palate showed red fruits, mushroom, meat, tar and tobacco. The tannins were fairly integrated, but still noticeably present, with a grippy texture that complimented the acidity in the wine. This wine was drinking quite well, and others noted it improved with additional time in the glass (unfortunately, it did not remain in my glass long enough to see that evolution!). 92 - 93 points, which is a very high score from me for a Barolo!

September 16, 2021 - Decanted an hour and then another hour plus of slow O. This started off as something of a beast, but opened up to show deep woodsy and floral notes, with rhubarb and roasted meat flavors. Rustic at first, an elegance emerged with additional air time. My WOTN.

September 16, 2021 - Italian wines on Broders patio (Broders Patio): Dry and tannic, as if it was barolo. Minerals, cherry, dark red fruit, some tobacco. This went great with Italian food.

September 16, 2021 - Italians at Broder's (Broder's Pasta Bar, Minneapolis): Very dark red color with a 5mm transitional meniscus. Deep and meaty, black fruits, blackberry and black cherry, licorice, ripe, lovely minerality and tar notes, bacon fat becomes prominent later, ripe and caressing tannins. This was succulent, modern and well balanced. Group WOTN, my #4. 92 to 92+pts.
