December 10, 2018 - 14.6% alcohol, medium weight foil, appears to be artificial cork, medium legs, dusky red/brown; nose of alcohol, pepper, not fruit forward; vinturied and served right away at room temperature (24 degrees C; if cooled the taste goes south), full bodied, taste has vegetable flavors predominating -- celery, rhubarb, carrots, cucumbers, minerals, maybe with fruit notes in the background; a blind tasting would be hard pressed to identify it as a Zinfandel at all; pair with chicken, red meat
February 7, 2016 - A reasonably pleasant wine, lots of fruit with a little spice. maybe a touch sour. A reasonably down the line supermarket zin. At $14 at TJs I would probably not buy again, but I don't feel strongly about that. I would say the QPR is fair but not good.
February 21, 2015 - Disappointing. Past it's prime
November 19, 2014 - Hung onto this one too long. Not much flavor left at this point.
December 25, 2013 - A very simple Zin. Not bad at the price point, yet I was expecting more based on other tasting notes. Cherry, spice, and blackberry dominated the initial flavors, with a little smoke on the finish.
August 1, 2012 - Pleasant zin, with nose and flavor of blackberry. Not especially complex.
July 24, 2012 - Medium red brick zinfandel color. Nose was dusty fuit. Taste was nice and true to zinfandel with some cherry and spice and earth notes. I was surprised at the nice balance. A nice but nt too long lasting finish with some soft tannin. A good drinking Zin, especially at the $10 range I paid.
June 16, 2012 - The wine looks Garnet colored. The legs are Medium. It smells like and Cranberry. The body is Medium/Full. The wine has Juicy texture. The wine finishes Medium.
December 23, 2011 - Sweet honey like flavor with some spice and hints of berries. A nice companion to the peanut and spice coated salmon eaten along with it.
December 23, 2011 - Sweet honey with hints of spice and berries. Nose is heavy and sweet almost nectar like.
