January 26, 2014 - Excellent. Even now. Smooth, rich, full bodied. Delicious.
September 2, 2012 - Out of date, so not fair evaluation. However, bold smell, full body ... Slightly bitter, but mellowed a bit after 1 hr.
September 26, 2010 - This was given to me by a friend who has 8 or so bottles left to see if it was any good still.... after a 2 hour decant it opened up quite nicely and gaine some depth,the blueberries and spice are still there with slight anise on the back end....I would drink up for sure before it loses the fruit.
May 31, 2008 - Does need 2 hours decanting time ... after that, fantastic.
September 12, 2007 - This is beautiful, elegant, claret styled wine. It has elegance with breed.
April 4, 2007 - An hour or so of decanting did wonders for this wine. Very well balanced wine. Good acide and gobs of upfront fruit, bueberries and such. A touch of mocha and lots of spice... Seems like it will/should drink well for at least the next 5 years.. Once of the better and ore balanced 2000's I've had.
October 24, 2006 - An interesting mix of Cab Suav, Merlot, Syrah, and Cab Franc. This wine has a very Napa nose (bit of oak, bit of tar, bit of casis, and a little bit of spice). Initially on the palate you get a Cab flavor, but the lightness of syrah with all its inherent pluminess. The CF gives the wine some tannins, a little backbone, and some dustiness. Despite being "unusual" the wine is still integrated. An overall complete wine.
July 11, 2006 - Still nice and bold, some cherry, a little smoke, pain grille, and very meaty.
September 10, 2005 - Opened not decanted. Dinner with friends at Maria Manso in San Rafael. Big fruit and tannic.
February 12, 2005 - A sweet nose of cassis, blackberries and dark plum. The tannins are well integrated and this wine is smooth as velvet but lacks depth across the palate to warrant a higher score. This is a very nice wine but comes up just a bit short compared to the prior vintages. None-the-less very tasty juice with grilled rib-eye and bleu cheese and onion compote for an early Valentine's Day...
