February 6, 2021 - Smooth as silk tannin, lighter in style. Held up well, nice bright cherry fruit, good acidity. Standard fare, nothing complex here to benefit from aging. Good drinker at this stage. Seems a well stored bottle could hold a few more years.

September 16, 2015 - Ten years seems to work for me when I drink Barolo and this wine was no exception. Dry, food friendly and a pleasure to drink.

December 23, 2013 - Poured down the drain, no nose, tart taste, not good. Very sad.

March 26, 2012 - No redeeming characteristics, even disregarding varietal and expectations for a barolo. Little to no fruit, lacks any structure. So bad we poured it down the drain and returned other bottles to wine shop.

November 15, 2011 - This drink echoes quietly beneath impossibly high vaults and domes, while providing them with tannic structure. Tart cranberry and cassis cast brightly through small windows, cutting up the dusty cedar to glint off mosaics of golden anise and glass. This wine is the Haggia Sophia. It seems hollow and light but is detailed and structured, begging closer inspection, balanced but on the verge of crumbling apart. The wine opens beautifully over an hour, rewarding patience. It will develop in years to come but I doubt the fruit will stick around. Food fills its vaults like a congregation. August 28, 2011 - Similar state of development as my last note, but now after 1 hour decant, some interesting floral hints on the nose and palate. Very nice at that point with simple garden sauce and pork

December 26, 2010 - Poured through vinituri and drunk over the next 2-3 hours.
Some nice, subltle red fruit on the front. A hint of smoke and some drying tannins on the back. There's something mettalic lurking though. I haven't aged a lot of Barolo, but it's hard to see much potential here.
Not bad for the price, but I wouldn't buy this producer in a down vintage year.86-87

October 17, 2010 - Still too young and the first few hours of decant barely opened it up, but later in the night after about 4 hours it opened to a very lush, but not complicated junior Barolo. I do still think it has good ageing potential, but not sure it will ever be very impressive. Not bad QPR though.

April 28, 2010 - Bell's Italian Tasting (Bell's Wine Shop, Washington DC): Not too much of a nose. Smooth. Pretty reserved. Easy drinking and light with extremely dry tannins.
