August 26, 2016 - VERY crumbly cork, despite excellent storage. Deep garnet. Significant aromas of rock and berries. Assertive flavors. Good mouthfeel. Probably a bit late to have gotten the best from this bottle.

March 15, 2014 - This is still a nice wine, but has lost a lot of the verve and intensity of last time. Not the same smoky notes that made this so enticing for the price. Seems much more simple, still with decent fruit, but drying out a little. Drink up.

March 15, 2014 - Nice chewy Rhone Syrah.
Deep garnet colour. Cinnamon and plum aromas.
Needs food - pizza was good with and it stood up to a bit of tandoori spice.

December 24, 2013 - Twas the night before Christmas brick oven pizza night: and this one had solid structure, nice fruit, definitely not spent, a very pleasant quaff with brick oven pizzas. Could it be more serious? I dunno ....but we enjoyed it.

(CdR St. Cosme) 2008 Cosme Dear Friends, All I will say is...this fruit-slathered, Syrah-lover's fantasy wine (or is it a massive barrel sample?) is so full of fruit, it literally explodes from the glass vessel. If you enjoyed the 2007 version of this treat, wait until you try the 2008. From 100% Syrah, raised in traditional cement tanks, Louis Barruol could hardly contain himself when this wine was finally placed in bottle - it is so far above its pedigree that those seeking the joy of youthful Syrah would be well-served to douse their desires in a bathtub full of this beverage. It is moderate in alcohol and fruit forward but it also contains a level of minerality and terroir not typically seen in this bottling. It may not be most complex or complicated of vinous concoctions but it is a joy of a wine that will satiate a wide range of palates with its display of dark purple, garrigue-scented fruit. This wine will be especially pleasing to those that enjoy the density of Syrah south of Tain. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for over-the-top "delicious" factor and terrific price. ONE SHIPMENT ONLY at this price (we cannot get a second parcel under $15) 2008 St. Cosme Cotes du Rhone (Syrah) Thank you, Jon Rimmerman Garagiste Seattle, WA Rhone8377
