April 21, 2023 - Bienvenue a Champagne; 4/20/2023-4/29/2023 (Les Crayeres, various restaurants, Les Avises and a many wonderful producers): Off the list at Les Crayeres. This is a wine that we are drinking more and more of and we just love the older ones. It’s one of those wines that you can trust in every vintage and in some ways it’s interesting to try the ‘off’ ones because you get a better feel for the evolution of champagne. This was one of those. Drinking quite toasty and nicely. A great wine.

March 12, 2023 - From magnum. Superb showing here. So much finesse and perfectly mature. 1991 is not known to be a strong vintage, but this was singing.

TN: Intense and expressive. Ripe yellow fruit, some oxidative notes but just a slight touch - a feature, not fault. Fine minerality giving it additional spine. Superb, round, with fine mousse and a perfectly fine streak of acidity which carries it beautifully to a quite long finish.

Decanting: No decanting needed, good from the go, held up for hours with little change.

March 10, 2023 - From Magnum bottle. This was singing from the beginning. Explosive aromatics of brioche, pear, some ripe red berries too, also some tertiary notes of honey and nuts. It‘s pretty full-bodied, with pretty high acidity providing freshness to the richer wine. Creamy mouthfeel and excellent length. A beautiful, totally mature Clos des Goisses that is showing tons of autolytic notes and lots of class.

March 10, 2023 - From Magnum. Fine and surprisingly refined with accents of caramel, a bit of brioche, fruit of pear and mineral base notes. Unexpectedly fresh and crips acidity. A gracefully mature Champagne that no doubt benefited from the magnum bottling. Only little oxidation and what’s there was proving a great feature. Perlage provided for youthfulness.

March 27, 2018 - Champagne - 100 Vintage and NV Champagne; 12/15/2015-12/15/2020: Wonderful bottle. Deep and complex nose of nutty flavors, bee wax, bakery, flowers. Fresh and not too oxidative for its age. Great perlage. A very grand Champagne.
