April 14, 2024 - Same as last time: round, harmonious and fully developed. Nice and ripe on the palate. Silky finish. Wouldn’t recommend to give too much air, nose on decline on day 2. Drink up.
March 17, 2024 - Sour. Weak. Not much to write home about unfortunately
March 3, 2024 - Mature. Don’t wait. Animalic, leather, mint toffee. Nice
December 26, 2023 - Color: magenta with brick orange rim
Nose: dried plums, raspberry jam, dried fruits, generic spices
Taste: port like, thick, well integrated medium tannins, dried plums, herbs, medium alcohol, full bodied, long finish
Very enjoyable, wouldn't keep much longer
October 21, 2023 - Prefect cork. Some sediment. Slightly brown rim.
Spicy black fruit aroma with notes of cedar shavings and leather. Ripe red and black fruit flavors with a long, spicy, peppery, chocolatey finish. Mature - notes of mushroom and forest floor throughout. Complex, interesting, smooth and well balanced. There were some alcohol notes initially but they dissipated with air.
Consumed over 4 hours and the last glass was the best, but started showing well around 2 hours. Give this plenty of air.
I do not think this will improve further. Drink soon.
August 16, 2023 - Bottle coating deposit and some coarse sediment.
Medium red.
Sweet red plum, red cherry fruit. Wonderful bottle aged complexity.
Palate follows. Good length. Wonderful CDP complexity. Briary. At its peak. The best bottle of my 4. Will hold for maybe 5 years but I would drink up.
July 10, 2023 - Dark color with some brownish edges. Charming nose. Nice bouquet of red currant, raspberries and cherries mixed with garrigue notes. Fully developed. Medium to long, silky finish. Very good wine in a problematic year which demonstrates the extraordinary level of Beaucastel. Wouldn‘t keep it too long.
March 4, 2023 - Fourth time since 2015, last bottle. Ruby, with very slight amber edge. Moderately pronounced aroma of dark berries and plums, touch of sweetness. Medium-bodied flavors, still very good fruit, just light tannin. Long dark fruit aftertaste. At the end of its peak, with maybe a year or two before it starts down. Drink up!

February 24, 2023 - Perfect cork. Deep red with brownish rim. Warm nose of dark, ripe berries and some oak. Soft, pleasant, sweet fruit on palate. Soft, pleasant tannins. Long and complex finish. Nice pairing with raindeer stew. Save max three years.
February 8, 2023 - Monthly Tasting Group HWS; Beaucastel Chateauneuf du Pape (By VD and @ VD): Beautiful bouquet with ripe berries and cherries and garrigue. On the palate a slightly sweet start with cherries, dark and red berries, chocolate, beautiful acidity, slightly sticky tannin, some slightly green impressions as well. Beautiful freshness. Certainly a beautiful and elegant wine in its maturity stage, but will probably stay on this level for several years.
