February 9, 2024 - Classic bdx, ticks all the boxes with its lovely structure, medium body and great length. A bit sleek in comparison to other, more hyped vintages, but this is just really tasty!
February 8, 2024 - Medium purple with hints of garnet Fruit forward on the nose, blackberries, cedar, cigar box, and baking spices Great flavor, black tea, blackberries, licorice, and some hard candy on the finish Fine-grained tannins, nice strong acidity, dry and perfectly balanced. It's a really beautiful and luxurious Bordeaux. It is among my favorites so far
January 12, 2024 - Greenish, dark nose. Much more classic and austere than the ‘15 or ‘00. Very tannic. Needs years. 92?
November 17, 2023 - Wonderful St Julien, better than a Ducru. Just open it and enjoy. A typical Léoville, fruit, acid everything on the right place.
September 8, 2023 - Nice garnet color - pleasant dark fruits - a very linear wine that follows through consistently across the palate and finish. A lingering soft tannic feel. This opened up nicely over 24 hours.
June 18, 2023 - Singing. Smell alone is awesome. From 375ml.
June 17, 2023 - Popped this. Even before I poured it, I could hardly believe the fabulous fruit coming off the cork: it was pure black licorice, so intense, maybe the most memorable GOOD cork smell in my memory. Once I poured it, I knew I was in for a treat. It has a saturated black-ruby color, with huge red legs that are slowly making their way down the bowl of the glass. Who says '08 wasn't a GREAt vintage? No one who has ever tasted this wine, I'll say that. The nose and palate are otherworldly, so rich, so complex, perfect fruit, just in the right place, flowers, unctuous. I am in AWE. I wish all Bordeaux tasted and smelled like this. It could convince the dead that wine is one of the best things in all of creation. What a beauty!!! And on pop and pour!!! 5-14-19-10: 98/100. (Fully 10 minutes after being poured in the glass, there are red dots of wine halfway up the bowl that haven't budged; amazing.).
February 26, 2023 - LLC notorisk kjent for å trenge tre generasjoner og 48 timer i miksmaster for å åpne seg - men Cellartracker-notater på 08 gjorde det fristende å åpne denne nå. Og med et par timers lufting leverte vinen over all forventning. Små hint av tertiæraromaer - sopp, trøffel, skogbunn, kom igjennom den friske og energiske lilla og røde frukten. Tanninene relativt godt integrert - et lite snerp på den lange utgangen var meget kledelig. Nydelig flaske.
December 24, 2022 - Needs air and then this wine shows a beautiful complex fragrant nose of black fruit, violets and pencil lead. Great palate, powerful but not overpowering and keeping it's freshness. Very long tasty finish, great wine.
