September 23, 2017 - Decanted at 6 pm and drunk through about 10pm and again the next evening. The wine is translucent medium ruby colored. When first opened this clearly had a very sulfur/reductive element that I was not crazy about. It took 1-2 hours for this to minimize though it was still noticeable on the finish 24 hours later. The other elements of the bouquet included some cherry liqueur, vanilla, lavender and pine needles. On the palate it has nice texture and plenty of acidity (medium) but fairly low tannin. the flavors include tart cranberry, dark cherry and some spice, mostly sweet baking spices. The finish is moderately long and tinged with bitter cherry and some of that sulfur/match stick. Mixed emotions overall.

July 8, 2017 - The wine looks ruby colored. The legs are medium. The body is medium. The wine has smooth texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has medium acidity. A lovely pinot for the price.

December 13, 2010 - Deep ruby in color. A bit of stray bottle funk on the nose. Has the sour cherry that I associate with Carneros Pinot. More flush across the palate in fruit character than Robert Sinskey (or Saintsbury), but on the other hand I think Sinskey is held together better, with far more complexity in the taste and length on the finish. This one feels just a touch to "made" for my tastes. Finish is a touch hard, the bottle was just opened though so it may broaden out. Seems a bit of an ego price tag at $40.

November 13, 2009 - Slightly cola (which I'm usually not too fond of, but seems to be balanced in this wine) and a little chocolatey for a pinot yet has a fresh edge to it. Has a good seamless backbone to it. Nice.
