Community Tasting Notes 6

September 24, 2019 - Pop and pour, consumed over 3 hours. Nose: Medium expressiveness, dark red fruit - pomegranate & raspberry, violets, red licorice, shoe polish, and hints of dark earth - quite intriguing. Palate: Medium bodied, spicy red fruit attack, solid acidic back-bone, fruit turns tart in the back-end where earthy notes join in. Finish: Medium-plus length, dominated by tart red fruit with tobacco and leather undertones. Starts strong but the back-end tartness is almost overpowering, still enjoyable though.

March 3, 2018 - Tasting Room: Luxury Red Wine Sampler: From 50ml. Garnet in color, with raspberry and pomegranate aromas that follow on to the palate with spice, pepper, and herb notes. Medium finish.

January 18, 2013 - From a Tasting Room 50ml bottle. Nose: Medium expressiveness, dark chocolate, red licorice, and pomegranate. Palate: Medium bodied, spicy red fruit attack, fades a bit thru the mid-palate where an acidic kick appears turning the fruit a bit tart in the back-end. Finish: Short to medium length sense of tart red fruit.

January 2, 2012 - 50ml bottle. Clear garnet. Rich strawberry basket, cinnamon, and earth nose. Medium bodied, pungent tart cherries, cranberries, baking spices, a touch of black pepper, smooth tannins, decent acid, chocolate, and a medium to long finish. A tasty, new world Sangiovese.

February 26, 2011 - Really nice authentic old world style nose. Light brown rolling tobacco, crushed rock, dusty cellar and fig notes coming through. Really nice flavor profile... very bursting and juicy at first, coming to a quick hard crescendo and then lingering and tapering off nicely. Great mouthfeel, great tannins, great acidity... this is some serious Sangiovese! Highly recommended.
