November 12, 2022 - Almost 5 years since my last bottle of the 2007 and it is probably the best bottle of Insignia that I have drank. Opened and slow ox'd for 3 hours prior to dinner. We drank this against a 2015 Ulysses and a 2014 Realm Houyi and in my opinion it stole the show. Dark berries and hints of chocolate on the nose. The palate was dark berries, plums, cassis, cigar box, touch of fig and tobacco. The finish was long and deep. 96++ almost a 97

August 27, 2022 - Excellent. What a beautiful expression of Cali Cab

May 15, 2022 - Deep purple cassis color. Cranberries and mulberries on the nose. Still tight with concentrated raspberry and pomegranate notes. Tasty and enjoyable, but nothing special. Well, not special in the pantheon of good wines.

February 19, 2022 - Even though I knew the wine, on the nose it is so very much Bordeaux. Pencil lead, new leather, a bit of cigar box. No way, blind, I would have picked Napa so quite the compliment. Truly gorgeous Bordeaux nose though smelled still young. Wish I could taste this wine ten years from now. In the mouth, pliant, lush, great depth of flavor. Predominantly red fruit but the dark fruit is boysenberry and blackberry. Lively acidity, balanced with soft tannin. A touch too much alcohol. Lengthy finish. So gorgeous - really a sensual, engaging wine. The more you dig into it the more is there. A spectacular experience, drank alongside a wonderful 2003 Cos d’Estournel with an enormous prime rib feast. Both wines showed beautifully.

February 19, 2022 - Slow ox for two hours. This was a bit disappointing. The nose showed blck fruit and a bit of earth. The palate was big, full bodied with lots of bold black fruit but bordering on jamminess. Overall this felt a little overdone. Does it need more time to sort itself out?
