September 3, 2023 - Very nice structure with plentiful soft tannins. Still retains its dark fruit but is more complex than the last time I tried a bottle.

April 1, 2022 - Broke the cork trying to open it. Immediately the sent permeated the room. Initially high heat and flat fruit. Too long in the jar? Stored wrong? Eventually came around to a much more soft and velvety feel.

September 16, 2021 - Bold blackberry crumble, soft vanilla on the nose. Backbone of brambles, blackberry seeds and stems. Still has fruit for years (possibly 5+). Tannins largely mellowed out but still structured. A robust, powerful, howell mountain cab.

August 18, 2019 - Excellent, with very good Napa typicity. Nice floral aromatics, flavors of dried blackcurrant and tobacco with hints of cedar. If this bottle is an indication, it's just entering its drinking window and can age gracefully for many years. Well done!

August 15, 2019 - 14 years and no sign of fading. Fresher than some new releases. Ruby red rim. BlackBerry, strawberry, black cherry, eucalyptus nose. Fresh fruit palate. BlackBerry, Black cherry, leather, menthol, clove, very light oak, and velvety tannins. 45 second finish. This is so good it made me write a tasting note.
