July 18, 2022 - What I'm looking for when I buy an Alban. Spectacular. Smooth, integrated complex fruit, great finish. In a great drinking window.

July 12, 2022 - Its got an amazing powerful berry, chocolate and oak nose and for a second its rich and enticing but then sadly just plain hot, an almost alcohol burn and i made sure it was at around 16c temperature wise. Sadly ruined it and amongst 6 of us it was not finished...

June 7, 2022 - Sight: moderate evolution, the core is still dark

Aromatic: Still plenty of sweet black/blue fruit intermingled with black olive tapenade, light roasted meats, lavender white pepper, and truffle

Palate: M+Body, M-Acid, M+Alc, Smooth T, Palate matches the nose with a nice blend of fruit and tertiary flavors. Finish is long

Yes this is a modern wine, without the true elegance of the northern Rhone, but the wine is aging well. The alc will start to show through more as it ages further, but a thought provoking wine at 16 years of age.

I think I will finish the bottle with a smile

May 30, 2022 - Decanted for 1.5 hours. Nose of ripe blackberry, black plum, huckleberry, gamey meat and spice. Black and blue fruit, gamey meat, spice and ripe tannins on the palate. Very long, layered finish. Full bodied. Served with central-Texas style smoked brisket.

April 16, 2022 - Way past its time. Even the fragrance is off-putting.
