August 19, 2021 - Summer of 2021 Cornucopia of Wines (Dogwood Grove, Garezers, HHI): I prefer Talbot and Bordeaux in general in riper vintages (I’m an American!), and this seemed just a bit too muted for me on the palate with too much chalk and cedar. Similarly the nose featured a woodier element that didn't impress.

June 6, 2021 - Decanted 3 hours and found it very good. Tannins were fully integrated and some hint of fruit although some age is beginning to appear so I would drink it within the next year or so to fully appreciate it.

April 15, 2020 - 13%. Purchased en primeur, stored temperature controlled since delivery. PnP about 3 months ago. Tasting note from sample set aside in a 100ml bottle and kept in ref. Medium red, garnet rim. Sweetly fruited. Bright strawberry and blackberry fruit. Rounded mouthfeel, soft tannins, broad food friendly tartness. Medium short finish. A satisfying claret in its primary drinking window.

February 10, 2020 - I have done a fresh tasting which is causing me to alter slightly my prior assessment. Not as insipid as when tasted in 2016: this time, delicate wave of red berries swept across my palate and the finesse was palpable. Still, though, not a great value wine.

October 23, 2019 - It's drinking well now, tannins are soft and nothing offends. Having said that, there is not a lot going on here, not much fruit and precious little structure, but will serve as an every day wine.

On the muted side of a nose. Soft dark fruits but not really expressive. On the palate is actually better than expected, good st Julien fruit signature, soft on the acid side though, soft silky tannin and this is now in a good place to be enjoyed. Did not know what to expect from a 2008 but definitely this is soft and subtle and the winemaker here made a good result from a so so vintage and the lightness in it actually helps. Touch green on the finish . Good effort , drinks very well and a nice 89-90

July 26, 2018 - One-hour decant. Crimson color, just a hint of amber on the rim. Muted nose of red fruit, lead pencil. In the mouth, the tannins were mostly resolved. (N.B.: I think post-Cordier Talbot is so much more "modern" in style than the older iterations and that is a shame). Dark fruits, oak and a little thyme at the close of the finish. Not as deep as one would want a truly superior wine to be. However, the austerity went well with a Sicilian-style veal chop.
