July 12, 2020 - This wine is medium bodied at most, gently fruited and softly textured with good balancing acidity and some firmness on the finish. However, it lacks the grip, complexity and class of the several vintages of Poujeaux which I have had in my cellar from the 80s and 90s and which IMO were equal in quality to many 3ème GCCs. Conventional wisdom says that the estate went into some decline in the early 00s but that it has picked up under the Cuvelier family which acquired it in 2008. This bottle's label bears the Cuvelier name but it is probable that their influence was not yet being fully felt. Up to good bourgeois standard though.

June 21, 2020 - Really like this. Earthy with good bite. Mature nose and flavour profile. Years left in it

June 19, 2020 - (Decanted for one hour)
Deep red colour with a youthful nose showing violets, herbs and some oak in a pleasant way. Still showing a nice austerity of tannins on the palate combined with some dried herbs on the warm finish showing some fruity sweetness. This matched grilled meat very nicely and should keep well for quite some time to evolve the tertiary notes.

June 5, 2020 - A nice, modest Bordeaux. I’m more or less with Julian Marshall, below. But I have to add that the very toasty oak is very out of control, in my humble opinion. I can’t imagine it integrating in a thorough way until 20 years from vintage, at minimum, and perhaps considerably more. And are folks really planning to cellar these into the 2030s? Bit of a head-scratcher to me, especially given that it’s otherwise drinking quite nicely.

April 27, 2020 - Zeer elegante goed uitgebalanceerde Moulis. Mooie afdronk. Fijne wijn voor bij lichte maaltijd

(Chateau Poujeaux (Moulis)) Aromatically this wine seems fairly well closed down right now. On the palate there are lots of tannins in the middle of the wine, with a layer of rather dry but gently polished fruit over the top. It does seem a little austere but there is at least some substance and backbone here. With appropriate time in the cellar this may make good drinking.

(Chateau Poujeaux Moulis) Lovely bright fruit here, with a crystalline black summer berry character. The palate has good freshness, with a crisp style, and crunchy black fruits. There is even a little suppleness to it. Firm, tannic backbone too, with good acidity. A nice style here.
