April 17, 2010 - This is a real treat, a Cabernet Franc with almost perfect ripeness. It is not necessarily complex. Very dark in color. Has an almost old world nose of earth and mustiness. The blueberry and plum fruit is a little shy, hiding in the background. Very nice full mouthfeel, this is a big full bodied wine that may be in it's "dumb stage" Lots of noticeable but civilized tannins. I love the taste of mocha and chocolate on the palate and in the finish. Don't notice the alcohol, the oak, tannins and acid are all integrated. A leather, mocha, and blueberry finish. Glad to not have that green pepper grassy herbaceous taste. Very nice.
