January 16, 2014 - Enjoyed this last night, a balanced, restrained zin, with nice flavors of faint plum, and a dash of raspberry. Acid and tannin in check, this wine could go for several more years, but so good now, why chance it. This is a style of zin, that is enjoyable, vs. the many over ripe wines out there.

April 30, 2013 - Ken and Kelly over for dinner and playing spades VI (Our house, Kennett Square, PA): This is the second time I have had this bottling. My impressions are consistent with the 2005 bottle I had 3 years ago: A delicious expression of Zin; Big and bold but not over the top - balanced with good acidity. There is a little alcohol showing but it is pretty well hidden. This bottle still has a little fine tannin, in fact more than the 2009 Carlisle Sonoma County Syrah that followed. Everyone enjoyed this bottle.

February 23, 2013 - Deep ruby color, silky texture, aromas of cola, spice and dark cherry that translate onto the palate. The wine is still just a tad hot, but it burned off after an hour or so. Flavors developed nicely with long luscious legs.

June 29, 2011 - Very intriguing and complex nose - strawberries and cream plus some earthiness - not your typical overdone Zin nose which is great. Nice concentration on the back end and a remarkably long layered finish. Very decent.

April 10, 2011 - Dark ruby red with a touch of brown. Raspberry jam, oak, and menthol tobacco on the nose. Just less than medium bodied, dried cherries, tea, cedar, pepper, zippy acid, woody tannins, a bit of heat, and a medium finish. Good integration and interesting age notes.
