December 15, 2013 - Deep dark sweet fruit good balance. Tannins well integrated . I think has reached peak. Very enjoyable .
March 3, 2013 - A big, bold Zin. Red raspberry, blackberry, blueberry are predominant with undertones of vanilla and cocoa. It finishes with almost a cola flavor. It's a really delicious full-flavored Zin.
December 15, 2012 - Everything you want in a new world zin. Dark, big and powerful with blueberry and sage mellowed with just the right amount of oaky vanilla. Just enough tannin to give it structure and acid to keep it from being cloying. Still enjoying this style when it is done so well.
December 2, 2012 - Solid zin - fruit forward but not overly so. Went well with goulash.
April 14, 2012 - Smooth and creamy. Nice dark fruit flavor with vanilla and some brambly spiciness. Still drinking well, but would not keep around much longer.
March 24, 2012 - This is the second bottle , and not sure if I got bad bottles or what, but thisse have not been drinkable.
February 15, 2012 - still a very promising nose of licorice, red cherry smarties, vanilla, spicecake, and bramble. but that's where the goodness ends. tannins, fruit, alcohol, and acid are all there, but everything is a big mess right now. not enjoyable at this point. if this was the only bottle i had ever had of this wine, 79-81.
December 26, 2011 - Fruit forward, slight tanic after notes
November 1, 2011 - this bottle didn't show as well as previous bottle. it was a bit oxidized and threw off quite a bit of sediment. i hesitate to say it was flawed, but it certainly wasn't indicative of previous bottles i've had.
September 3, 2011 - another great bottle. roasted vanilla bean and savory (not jammy imho) red and black fruits with briar and a little white pepper. i agree with a recent note that this wine is on the decline, even though it still drinking beautifully.
