September 3, 2021 - I love Dunn, but unfortunately this bottle from Wine.com exhibited signs of heat damage. The fruit aromas and flavors were muted; we got balsamic vinegar and soy sauce instead of the foresty, earthy vibes I’m used to. Acids and velvety soft tannins were still abundant, leading me to guess that properly stored bottles have plenty of life ahead of them. This one not so much. Bummer.

May 19, 2021 - Wow! Big, earthy and robust. Opens with a smell of violets. Starts out with blackberry, blueberry and tobacco. Evolves to forest floor, saddle leather and a hint of oak. Huge mouth feel with still strong tannins. Ultra full bodied with a lingering finish. This overwhelmed the other wines served this evening. Delicious and spectacular.

February 12, 2021 - Bell pepper note on night one, though nicely sized in the mouth. We will see what night 2 brings.

December 25, 2020 - Decanted 90 minutes. Acid-forward mature Napa Cab with forest floor, savory red fruit, warm, velvety body, chewy tannins. This is quite advanced from the bottle I tasted in 2017 and is now at mature peak.

December 13, 2020 - A really terrific wine. Still has a bold medium-dark red purple color with very few signs of bricking. Nose was super elegant and well balanced as I've come to expect from this producer: initially dark blue fruits, black currant, aromas of violets, eventually evolving (after about an hour or so) into more earthy elements of forest floor and perhaps some cedar. Finish was medium-long, with some of the deep blue fruits making a repeat appearance. The only thing I'd add to slightly counter the narrative of the other reviews was that we decanted and drank over five hours and, while the wine's classic structure showed very well, it ended up with the tannins being largely absent toward the end. So it suggests to me that this bottle is close to peaking or at least entering a nice drinking window. I don't think you'll regret drinking this now.

October 30, 2020 - PNP during dinner which was a mistake and should have decanted earlier....got better with time and opened and softened....definitely a Dunn wine and would benefit from time and air

October 24, 2020 - Still a few hard edges and menthol notes but fruit holding up just fine. Will try again in 5 years

April 11, 2020 - From Coravin. Medium minus intensity aromas of graphite, pencil shavings, red and blackcurrant, cedar, sweet spice, slight leather and a very slight saline quality as well. in the mouth it's juicy, fleshy, flavours very much as per the nose with a creamy buttery quality. Tannins feels quite soft against this background but this is pleasant enough stuff.
