September 14, 2020 - It was excellent with dark fruit and sweetness on the palate and floral on the nose.
May 25, 2020 - Wow! This really came into its own since the last time I tried it. Still has a nice acid, tannin backbone giving it structure. The fruit is supple and complex. Seems like it still has several good years left.
February 11, 2020 - Same as last one. OK but nothing special. Maybe I waited too long.
November 19, 2019 - side by side tasting with a 15 year old Pine Ridge Fortis and this held its own all the way... great value for sure and lots of life left
November 15, 2019 - consistently great and plenty of life left; needs at least 30 min decant
May 12, 2019 - Decanted, 1 hour. Hint of orange on deep burgundy. Beautiful well constructed with firm mellow tannins, fruit, graphite, earth. Excellent for price, probably peak but should last a while more. Better than prior tasting.
February 10, 2019 - This is still a very nice wine, good color, smooth tannins, great finish. It does need to be decanted at least an hour in advance. 2 hours is probably better. I only have one bottle left, but in the last 5 bottles, I have had two bad corks, and spoiled wine. My bottle from last night was excellent, but I was worried about the cork. My cellar is temp and humidity controlled, which causes me to think from a cork point of view, this wine is at risk.
December 24, 2018 - Decanted for 2 hours, beautiful dark ruby almost purple color, great viscosity. Perfume and leather on the nose with a touch of white and dark chocolate. Beautiful mouthfeel, perfectly balanced and structured. Leather and chocolate upfront with red fruit on a long finish. It could sit for maybe 5 more years but wow. Excellent representation of To-Kalon juice!
November 12, 2018 - decanting is key to unlocking this wine; very good after 2 hours and improved over next 12... still good, but beginning to decline at 24 hour mark (cellar conditions)
October 15, 2018 - This bottle is drinking beautifully. I opened and decanted about 2 hours prior to serving and the wine opens up nicely. Without the decanting the wine is hidden. This wine if stored correctly still has a few years left
