December 17, 2016 - Perhaps a little over the hill. Pleasant but nothing to note.

June 28, 2014 - I have no idea. At first I thought, "bad bottle." After a few minutes, I thought, "nope, just a strange wine." Astringency (think "old bandage") on the nose, but quite a lot of fruit on the palate. No idea what's going on here.

March 27, 2014 - This bottle was quite a bit more drinkable than the last one. Rustic, high in acids but has a nice core of dried cherry and plum, hint of smoke. Went well with a baked spaghetti puttanesca.

May 23, 2013 - To sum it up: pleasantly weird. High acids with a lot of roasted stuff and dried black fruits. Finished the bottle, but wouldn't buy again.

April 22, 2013 - Not impressed. Seems thin and overly acidic on the palate. Maybe this was an off bottle. Will try again soon.

June 4, 2009 - Pretty nice WTF wine. It's 55% Nero de Troia, 30% Montepulciano, and 15% Bombino Bianco -- that's right, this red wine contains 15% white wine. It's got a great spicy and lifted nose with little berries, dried fruit, and amaretto, and is powerfully flavorful with some fleshiness, a bit of grip and a nice herbal bitterness on the finish. I like it, and it helps me meet my Bombino Bianco drinking quota.
