February 3, 2019 - Glad I finally popped the cork on this one. The wine is on it's downward slide. Still drinkable, but showing a barrel woody tobacco taste. That's something I shy from. I did drink this over a couple of days and it was stable.

December 2, 2016 - We should have finished this off a year or two ago. It doesn't seem the additional time in the cellar has helped - getting to be geriatric.

February 1, 2016 - It's not exactly the same wine it was when I drank the first bottle last May, but that's not a bad thing. This time around I'm getting almost no cedar, and more of a highly-flavored pipe tobacco. Still lots of dark fruit, and the non-flabby softness, with tannins playing "peekaboo!" I saw previously. Tonight's pairing was an eye of round roast, and again it worked wonderfully.

July 25, 2015 - Deep dark crimson, with wide, slow legs. Blueberry, cedar, wet leather, and spice nose. Medium bodied, delicate yet powerful, blackberries, black cherries, well integrated sweet tannins, dark chocolate, and a long finish. Just wonderful.

May 24, 2015 - The cork was a little crumbly, but, fortunately, the wine was still quite fine. (And I know better than to NOT run a Wellington through a filter, even when I'm not concerned about cork crumbs!)
Mellow and soft, but not at all flabby. Definitely getting the tobacco and cedar and dark fruits others have mentioned. Magnificent with a mesquite-grilled strip steak for the holiday weekend.

September 16, 2014 - Wow, such a great wine! Leaves, tobacco, allspice, hint of leather, nice fruit in the dark red spectrum. Tannins are gone and balance is spot on. Nice finish. Wish I had a lot more of this. Thanks Peter!

April 7, 2014 - Wine was excellent, especially on day 2. Should have filtered it, however - fair amount of sediment in last glass.

April 27, 2013 - Medium weight European styled Cab. Tobacco, cedar and red fruit aromas. Fresh, slightly herbaceous flavors. Oak influence is minimal. Tannins are integrating nicely, and perhaps this will gain complexity in the next few years.

February 22, 2013 - Very nice. Dark garnet color. Red fruits, basil, oak. Good balance and backbone. Medium-full palate.
