October 19, 2016 - Rousseau '92 and '94 Dinner (Scottsdale, AZ): The opposite of the '92 vintage, with the Chambertin falling behind Beze. This had a dirtier nose, and while still quite delicious, it just didn't have quite the complexity or elegance of the others in the flight.

September 21, 2016 - Soft and elegant with some fruit left and secondary character. Over the peak but its still enjoyable.

April 28, 2016 - Rousseau dinner at Jade Palace. Served alongside the CSJ 93 and CSJ 96. Deep red, with browning throughout. Lovely nose of dried roses, violets, strawberry jam, wood spice, earth and truffle. This was undoubtedly mature, but rightly so, considering the vintage. Mature Burgundy at its best, save for the average vintage which showed lack of complexity and length for a Rousseau Chambertin. Having said that, the palate had good grip, some lurking tannins and decent enough acidity which supported the wine for 2-3 hours. Dried roses, plums, sour cherries, earth, forest floor, braised meat, old leather and black tea. Very enjoyable but at peak. While I don't see this dropping off soon, I see no point in waiting. If you have this, drink it.

December 26, 2015 - Really quite delicious although I would not leave it long to drink any remaining bottles

January 18, 2014 - BWC 2014 - The Grand Crus of Chambertin: My first time drinking a bottle of Chambertin. Whoa, did this live up to the hype. Kaleidoscopic, the way the first bottle of Montrachet was. Intense and potent, powerful to the core, expressive in every detail, seamless. And this is not even a great vintage. i can only imagine...
