January 29, 2020 - This wine was surly and tiresome when young; nothing charming or interesting. In middle age it was dull and unbalanced. Now its thin and rather sour. Much like myself. I'm going to pour the rest fown the drain and open a half of something better. Which would not be difficult to choose!
September 17, 2018 - Medium bodied, earthy, with a citrus accent on top of the tobacco and red fruits. The wine is fully mature, and starting to fade and drop its fruit, this requires drinking over the near future.
February 10, 2017 - Dans la lignée de la précédente bouteille, l'élevage insistant s'estompe rapidement, et après 30 minutes, on a un vin très agréable, belle buvabilité, avec une touche mentholée que je n'avais pas perçue la dernière fois. Bon Bordeaux pour pas cher.
March 8, 2016 - Très bien, je ne l'attendais pas aussi bon. Le nez est très élégant, une pointe de menthol, et derrière, des notes secondaires bordelaises. En bouche, il est de demi corps, mais très bien profilé, bel équilibre, longueur moyenne. Clairement dans une phase intermédiaire, les notes d'orange sanguine de sa jeunesse ont complètement disparu. On peut encore l'attendre 3/4 ans, mais il ne progressera plus je pense.
November 30, 2015 - A bit light on the palate but the nose is correct and lovely. Actually the palate thinness is a bit of a letdown after the very nice nose. Still, good with a braised beef dish and passable on its own.
May 4, 2015 - Clean, dark cherry appearance
Mineral and hint of pepper nose. Goes alongside the expected strong oak notes.
On the palate there are bold, grippy tannins. Alongside an overpowering oak flavour. Suggest that this needs some time to breath in order to soften and draw out some of the fruit.
Medium length on the finish. The smokeyness of the oak hangs around for a while, and randomly got an orange type taste long into the finish.
May 9, 2014 - Interesting rising nose, possibly a blueberry note. Palate smooth, well structured transition. Perhaps a little too thin. Finish a bit short and green.
March 13, 2014 - Textbook Bordeaux nose of cedar and cigar box. This gets the hopes us that this might just be a stellar value. However, the palate falls a bit flat and rough. Flavors of dark fruit and earth but lacking concentration. Still, a good effort for the price.
January 5, 2014 - This bottle is tart and aroma is woody. It's not for my taste.
