November 10, 2017 - An interesting merlot at its drinking peak. Notes of mocha, truffle and olive with wisps of cherry. Glad this is my last bottle as it is at its best right now.

June 27, 2016 - Ive been holding this one for a long time based on reviews. Upon opening the bottle smells aged and mellowed. Not a shred of sediment, likely due to the screw cap. Initial reactions on taste is this is one of the biggest, dryest (emphasis is on dry) most brooding red wines I've ever tasted. Can hardly believe this is a 10+ year old merlot. Would have easily mistaken this for a big Napa Cabernet. Probably should have decanted for several hours first, hoping the other 1/2 bottle mellows a bit on day 2.
March 6, 2016 - Dark fruit good acidity with a med finish. Held up well on day 2.
March 16, 2014 - Similar to my 2013 tn. This one is drinking well as it is.
February 1, 2014 - Always nice.
December 21, 2013 - The nose was rich in dark fruit, indications of "port" initially and after some time became nicely integrated and notes of oak, blue fruits were present. Full bodied and silky tannins with a long finish. Rich fruit, slight earthy tones with a touch of jammy fruit. Drink now.

July 12, 2013 - Pnp through a vinturri. Dark plummy-brownish in colour. Black cherries, some sandalwood, and creme de cassis on the nose. More black cherries, cassis, and dark chocolate with a hint of vanilla on the palate; has some harshness(or is that more dusty?) to it in the end. Good finish there in the end. Me thinks this is drinking very well right now without a decant.
