April 21, 2024 - Tasted over 3 hrs
-dark red purple minimal clearing
-subtle dark fruit licorice tar
-med acidity, med/med+ weight unctuous earthy faded plum licorice, med tannins
-fruit is almost gone but still structured and drinking well without overt tertiary elements
November 12, 2023 - Worth ageing. Super bottle!
November 5, 2023 - Delicious. Smooth, rich, in a lovely spot in its window. Evi loved it. Not a lot of fruit on the nose, more tobacco, etc., but very clean.
September 24, 2023 - Blackberry, bramble, garrigue, resolved tannin, drinking well
May 26, 2023 - Last of 8 bottles. No bricking but my cellar is on the cooler side for red wines so ageing may not be as fast as other’s.
Yet, most of the fruit has mellowed out, to the point where this reminds me of a heftier nebiolo rather than the young wild horse that this wine used to be.
Garnet color, fairly thin tears, no bricking.
Nose: mint, stewed cherry, a bit of heat, herbs (basil, rosemary).
Palate: muted black fruit, raspberry, still some measure of drying tannins, garrigue, coriander.
Medium length, lasting leather and tobacco leaf
Not a star but very pleasant, for very different reasons than 8 years ago. I still wish that i had more. 91pts.
October 10, 2021 - Nice long finish and quite tasty but Fruit is starting to fade
October 1, 2021 - Red brick rim developing
Smooth with elements of creaminess
Still some tannins in there
Tightly bound plummy fruit
Black Olives/Herbs & Vegetative aromas
Hints of smoke
July 25, 2021 - From magnum. Lovely. Very digeste, as the French say. Fully mature, classic Tempier nose. Fading a bit on the palate but balanced, fresh and really enjoyable, especially for such a generally weak vintage, and great with food.
April 17, 2021 - Je suis d’accord. This wine is on the edge of obsolescence, but still dishing out plenty of pleasure. I have another seven bottles and plan on drinking them ASAP.
February 24, 2021 - From magnum, a gift from a client. PnP, enjoyed it over two days with savory dinners. Bricking. Still enjoyable, but fading and just managed to catch it after it's peaked, before coming apart.
