May 16, 2021 - It’s definitely not dead. Still some life left. Deep rich flavor, very long finish, not the most exciting wine but a good value.

May 19, 2018 - A terrific, complex wine that has matured beautifully. Powerful red and black fruit: licorice, barbecue sauce, rosemary, with still lots of tannins. Will last and may improve further over the next 5-10 years (said the guy who just drank his last bottle). If I didn't know better, I'd swear this was bottled about 5 years ago instead of 12. I don't recall how much I paid per bottle about 10 years ago, but it was probably about $20. A steal.

April 22, 2018 - Excelente. Bem estruturado e elegante. Areado evolui melhor. Um grande vinho.

April 20, 2014 - Nose: raspberry, cranberry, cranberry bog, mulch/moss, hint of violets, aged cedar wood. Taste: dry, silky smooth, medium body. Red fruits: cranberry, raspberry, red currant - but also some rich sweet blackberry on the lengthy finish. Silky tannins. Slight herbaceous notes, lavender, and a hint of espresso. Nice structure. Enjoyable.

April 20, 2014 - last bottle-been a long time since I had this. Nose: raspberry, strawberry, coffee latte, eucalyptus, forest, cedar. Taste: light fruit juice, smooth, cranberry juice, peppery, medium body, dry, silky tannin, a little bit of woodiness. Either my taste has changed or the wine has aged less-optimally, but it doesn't have richness that I used to get. Decent sipper.

(Esporao Reserva Red) #1; COLOR-dark; NOSE-this is gorgeous; strawberry pie; heavy floral action (pansies); creamy; almost like strawberry yogurt ice cream; PALATE-this is exceptionally good; this is exactly the kind of wine one should get for $15 bones -- there's terroir w/ minerality; there's tons of fruit (strawberries for weeks); great back-end chalky/dusty flavors that are just gorgeous; like a dessert bar that's exploded in my mouth; this wine has: minerality, structure, terroir, balance & length; New World, but not over-the-top; SPECTACULAR for $15 bones; sour cherry; great finish; GV-92
