March 11, 2024 - Candied blueberries, almost syrupy but not nearly thick enough to warrant that type of descriptor. Soooooo balanced that I almost can't believe this isn't an even pricier bottle.
Short, but wonderful finish.
I'm all over the place with my notes as I am adding them whimsically near the very last sip of my glass.
This is an excellent wine and I am so thankful to have it sliding deep inside my wet, hot, willing mouth.
October 8, 2023 - Brought this a restaurant in NYC and it was absolutely perfect today. This was probably the best of my 3 bottles that I had of this. It was ready to go right out of the bottle. As soon as you opened the cork, you can smell dark berries, chocolate, and a hint of roasted coffee.
The palate is full bodied, rich, opulent. As soon as you take a sip you can tell this is a very special wine. It has layers and layers of fruit. I do feel that this is starting to be on the downside. It probably peaked about 1-2 years ago. That being said, it still is super enjoyable. But I would advise that if you have this drink it up to fully enjoy this and how good it really is.
We had this with a steak and it was the perfect pairing.

February 14, 2023 - Really came into its own after a two hour decant. Started off really nicely with eucalyptus/menthol notes, that gave way later to cherry and red cassis. Adeptly balanced, showing big, CA fruit, but with everything lined up perfectly. A point!
February 6, 2022 - Wow! Wonderfully rich and full Napa Cab. Full of life. Deep purple, soft tannins and big mouthfeel. Ripe fruits and berries. Excellent bottle of wine.
September 30, 2021 - Fantastic wine which was our 2nd of the evening. Powerful upon opening with tremendous concentration of spice, dark fruits with almost inky color. Mellowed considerably as it decanted to a warming spicy finish as the Tannins are will integrated now. Probably near peak though with this concentration I can see more years in the bottle with no problem.
September 25, 2021 - Wow what a fantastic wine. This was ready to go right out of the bottle. It pours very dark - very concentrated. The nose is very elegant and lets you know you are about to enjoy something very special. It is loaded with dark fruits, cherries, chocolate, and a hint of leather on the tail end. The palate is full bodied - definitely firing on all cylinders. It is rich, powerful, and concentrated. The finish is long and delivers. The tannins are still present but very well integrated at this point. Probably drinking at its peak now. Really special wine.
September 4, 2021 - Fantastic and drinking perfectly.
April 30, 2021 - Inky black. Nose of tar, loam and eucalyptus. Big and round with barely perceptible tannins. Brooding prunes and figs with blueberries, mint and a hint of tobacco. Nothing subtle about this. Massive but not excessively sweet or hot. Lacks the acidity to give it a bit more balance and make it a potentially great wine.
November 3, 2020 - Nose: Large scaled blue and black fruit, cinnamon, coffee cake and Palate: creamy entry of dense blue fruit, big acidity, cherry juice, spice and a nice inner moth perfume. Finish: Saturated blue fruits, new leather, fig paste and cigar box.
A really nice modern Napa Cab. This balances the styles of Mark Heold and Celia Welch really well and you can see the influence of both winemakers. Power and self elegance all together.
