Still a bit woody, but nice tart Bordeaux flavors
Leathery berry finish

November 21, 2020 - Colour: Intense purple.
Bouquet: Med intese and rustic w. blackcurrant, vanilla, dusty and cigar box.
Palate: Dry, med(+) acid, med+ tannins, med+ body. Raw, rustic, camphor, pepper, herbs, orange zestr, liquorice.
More stucture than fruit.

Fairly deep crimson
Some graphite and dark currant aromas
Fairly brutal on the palate, quite old school
on initial opening.
August 2, 2020 - Tastes at Lauswolt Estate in Friesland the Netherlands. Very cabernet sauvignon bouquet. Promising. However lack of substance, no taste of terroir and the wine is beginning to dry out. Maybe too much wood to compensate lack of fruit. The year 2008 can be austere but so many chateaux has done a much better job, including many crus bourgeois.
May 7, 2019 - Better than my lst showing. Rich and concentrated for a 2008, good balance, needs a bit more time but lovely overall. Best after 2022. Decant.
November 10, 2018 - Tart and a bit restrained aromas of red berries, more in the direction of Burgundy than Medoc. Also tart and restrained on the palate, with astringent tannins and plenty of acidity. I guess this becomes better with more time in the cellar.
September 17, 2018 - The second vintage for the young Basile Tesseron, the wine is developed and already showing off its forest floor, herb, tobacco and red berry character. Medium bodied, classic and slightly rustic on the finish, you can drink this now, or over the next decade or so with ease.

Dark tannins provide the structured for the Cabernet
Sauvignon black currant flavors. It has power this is a big
and solid wine, given tension by tannins, that will take
several years to soften out.
Wine Spectator rated it 88:
A direct red, with a firm edge to the beam of black
cherry and black currant fruit. The light chalkiness
edge lingers on the tobacco-tinged finish, though
the plum fruit fleshes out enough for balance. Drink
now through 2014.
