November 26, 2023 - Archetypal Napa Bordeaux blend. The nose opens with the quintessential notes of graphite, juniper/cedar wood, and cigar box, with stewed berry fruit aromas. On the palate, the fruit is somewhat subdued, but still manages to harmonize well with complex secondary and tertiary flavors from cellaring, including fine dusty tannins, dried tropical fruit, and brambly garrigue. Long fully realized finish, with hints of wet granite providing the perfect closing note. Still drinking OK, but I was overly optimistic regarding additional cellaring when last tasted. Now at or near the crest; any further slumber will be unlikely to pay additional dividends.

November 27, 2021 - Decanted c 3 hours before tasting. Last tasted a couple of years ago. The nose tells you this wine is now quite mature. Enough fruit left to provide some interest but it I sense this should not be left for much longer. Length of finish is now somewhat limited

November 7, 2021 - Nice if not profound, with a lovely warm satisfying finish of ripe Californian fruit. Black and red fruits, cedar, touch of leather, spice and pepper, with a touch of menthol. Medium body, acidity and tannin. Medium length finish with some complexity. Drink now - this is quite evolved. 14% ABV.
