May 1, 2022 - not quite as impressed as other CT notes. bright cherry fruit. would not have guessed this was a 15yo wine. slightly earthy on the nose. tons of acid. solid wine but a bit overpriced at $50/$60. similar wines for less

October 16, 2017 - Dark red hue. Wild strawberry nose. Strawberry rhubarb, tart, easy drinking, delicious lingering taste. Nice bottle.

October 13, 2017 - Wow! Beautiful wine! Elegant at this point. Strawberry jam but great balance, minerality and elegance. Delicious.

September 25, 2015 - Happy result of an auction purchase. Held its own in a multi course meal with diverse wine offerings (2000 Leoville Poyferre, 2005 Pegau Reserve) pairing best with the chicken livers/foie gras and seared chicken courses and was very popular.

Love the Occidental fruit. If nit-picking, just slightly prominent wood treatment noticeable from this bottle tonight.

March 24, 2014 - Ditto last note. Prime time! After this, fruit gets into secondary stages, and it may still be very good, but peak now. Love the primary fruit and acidity.

December 2, 2013 - This is a great showing and ready to drink. Wood is fully integrated, very expressive with roses, orange zest, cherries and raspberries. Caress the palate with red fruits, some acidity, mineral notes and heavy on dark chocolate with orange liquor. First with Failla with a few years of cellar, it rewarded a lot.

March 24, 2013 - My kind of pinot...very restrained. Held up well against 07 Pousse d'or Volnay 60 Oeuvrees.

February 10, 2013 - Aerated the first glass but the next few were fine straight from the bottle. Cool funk and spice on the nose, very dark ruby in color and a real meaty mouthful of dark cherry and plum. Very smooth with layers of complexity coming into its own with age. Hard to tell if more cellar time will improve. Honestly I think it is showing its full potential.
