May 31, 2020 - A great but not amazing wine, if that makes sense. Another winner from Lancaster but it’s not my favorite vintage from them - a bit over-oaked in my view. Crowd pleaser - my wife and mom both loved it. I liked but not loved it. Big, bold, deeply structured. Still quite a bit of fruit, so could actually go a few years longer. Blackberry, a bit of blueberry, lots of vanilla, some tobacco and leather. Well balanced, long finish. Good qpr at $38-40. Decant it for sure - this opened up a lot after 2 hours.

November 24, 2019 - A great go to wine. Opens up over time. Decanted for two hours. Big and bold but drinks smoothly. Probably has another 3 years before peak.

September 8, 2017 - PnP, initially very subdued and restrained, drank over 4 hours and in which time it opened up significantly to reveal a beautiful wine!

August 7, 2017 - From a 1.5L. Nice inviting nose of red fruits, the wine took a couple hours to open up after being very tight initially from POP. Red cherry and cranberry fruit with subtle oak spice, did not get the chocolate that other tasters have noted. Tannins did subside with air, but this big bottle format needed more time, like 5-10 years to show its best. Pulled the cork a bit too soon, but very tasty wine nonetheless.

March 12, 2017 - Perfumed aromatics on the nose. On the palate, medium to medium-heavy in body. On the palate, "resolved" as another recent reviewer suggested. In a somewhat primary way - still pretty linear from front to back. Tasty, if not terribly complex.

October 22, 2016 - This wine is fully resolved at this point. Nose of deep, dark fruit and chocolate. Palate is dark fruits, dried herbs, and that leather character you start to get with aged Cabernet. Tannins have mostly melted away, but you still have just a hint of that dark chocolate dryness through the medium plus finish.

January 9, 2016 - Deep ruby color and medium plus aromas of menthol, pork fat, with black fruits filling the background, black berry black cherry. On the palate medium plus bodied, with the concentrated black fruits following from the nose, tannins are fine grained and holding.

March 7, 2015 - Outstanding well aged cabernet from Lancaster. Decanted for a couple hours. Nose was both fruity and floral. Mellow tannins, with beautiful finish. Tasted like cherries and tobacco with a sweet after taste.
