May 31, 2019 - Upon opening, it was too mute on the palate, so decided to decant it, but we had it few minutes after, so it took another 10 min in the glass to start showing what it has got. Plum-y sharp nose, red fruit only here. Palate showed med-full body, red fruit, some chalk. We really liked it, although it shows age and not very full-ish. Drink now, although it will last for another 5-10 years probably. Decant for an hour no worries.

May 2, 2019 - 96/82 pairing. This bottle as signing. Lifted, full aromatics of mature red fruits with an abundance of wet cedar, dried cigar leaf and leather. The palate still has round generous fruit that is melded to fine tanning. Great right now.

May 2, 2019 - Dinner at PST (Chicago, IL): Stunning -- this is what a 1982 should be like. There's a mild hit of pyrazine, but the fruit profile here is what stands out. Sure, the fruit is dried, but it's so luscious and silky and fresh. An extra dose of leafy tobacco adds a nice element of interest as well. The palate is slightly sweet thanks to the riper fruit, but there's also nice elegance from some still-fresh acids. For me, fully resolved and at peak.

April 5, 2019 - Austere and coarse aromas. Has lost both fruit and concentration.
