April 30, 2021 - Superb, just peaking, drink now!
February 15, 2021 - very nice. have to try to find more. opened beautifully.
April 24, 2020 - Solid tannic structure with restrained red and black fruit, earthiness and wet leaves on the nose, leather and chocolate on the finish. Dark ruby red wine that aged well - probably would get better, alas, my last bottle! Loved it
September 14, 2019 - Won't get any better, rich and complex
April 20, 2018 - Dark cherry, cassis, dried currants, tea, cinnamon, velvety texture, great balance. A bit too expensive.
October 12, 2017 - Dark cherry, cassis, light cinnamon, very nice texture and balance currently drinking fairly young still, opens up nicely after 3 hours in bottle. Well made wine, but over-priced.
December 31, 2016 - An elegant wine, great attributes, really enjoyed it.
Now the however part. This is a $200 retail wine ($150 wine club price).
When I compare the del Oso to a Spottswoode, a Caymus Special Select
I would purchase them ahead of this wine.
More similar to the Concha Toro-Dom Melchor
October 29, 2016 - Very vibrant and lively notes of blackberry, black currant, black cherry and red licorice. Still a little hot with plenty of spice. What a pleasure to drink this wine still waiting to find its moment. Give it a year or two to try again, but very serious wine right now.
July 7, 2015 - Decanted for 4 hours. May have been a mistake. It got very thin and everyone was disappointed.
December 29, 2014 - cherries, blackberries, minerality, spice, smokey oak
