June 17, 2022 - Wine is a murky dark brownish burgundy. Aromas of tertiary development: dark chocolate, fall leaves, magic! I’ve had a dozen of these and the 06 and this is the best yet. Alcohol and tannins and acids have balanced and integrated. Wine has a dark chocolate and dark raspberry liquor flavors. Depth and nice mid palate that has a good flavor and faded away gently. This wine is really impressing me here. Cheers.

April 1, 2015 - Sweet raspberry sauce nose, warm dark fruit and charcoal on palate, finishing with dusty tannins and satisfying finish. Well in it's drinking window. Last bottle of this. Much enjoyed.

March 11, 2015 - For the price point, the wine is a good value and enjoyable if you like a very oaked California cabernet. To me, this is well past the best drinking window and going down hill at a steady pace. I feel that this is an (over)oaked and (over)extracted wine that does not have the gravitas to carry that load for very long. When young and the fruit was bright and the oak was sweet and smooth this made sense. Now it is just heavy oak casting fruit shadows with a disjointed finish. It is still smooth, but there is not much taste. Still, a $20 cab should probably not be expected to be showing too well after 7+ years.

November 14, 2012 - Excellent California cab, but maybe a little bit too much fruit forward and oaky for some.

April 26, 2012 - might have been just slightly corked
