Community Tasting Notes 7

July 3, 2012 - Happy Independence Day! Celebrating our country's freedom with a good chardonnay. On sight, this wine is a golden straw color. The nose is a plethora of wonderful aroma's. Baked pear, ripe apples, vanilla, oak, honey, and pineapple abound! On the palate, the mouthfeel is very full, creamy, and soft. A good balance of tropical fruit, citrus, pear, cinnamon, and vanilla oak. A good deal of acidity which leads to a long, oaky finish. This chardonnay is very lively and bursting with flavor and would pair well with medium to sharp cheeses, pork, herb chicken, and hearty summer salads. We had this with baked pork chops with herbs and it went wonderful! We had the 2008 chardonnay and it is at the perfect point to drink now, but I do think it will age nicely up til 2014.

So on the SiNoTas scale, I give the Rutherford Ranch Chardonnay an A-. It has all the right flavors, it has lively fruit and a long oak finish. Full bodied, great with food, and the flavors keep on coming. Celebrating the 4th of July with the sound of booming fireworks and a great chardonnay. Winesplashing!

December 10, 2011 - Heavy flavour, heavy oak. Fine for that style. Good (80.5).

July 31, 2011 - Golden straw colored, traditional California Chard. Full-bodied, moderate finish not overly buttery, but has a nice weight to it. Served with veal saltimbocca which matched well.

February 12, 2011 - I tasted apple, vanilla, and indeed blackcurrant. Nice wine ! Would buy it again!

February 5, 2010 - Nicely balanced Chardonnay. Nose finds green apple, ripe pear and pineapple. Taste pleases with pear, apple, cinnamon and vanilla. Finish lingers just long enough with pineapple and citrus.

Crafted with blend of oaked (40%) and unoaked (60%) juice.
