September 30, 2013 - Not terrible right after opening but rapidly lost fruit and interest. What was left was a little cranberry and just enough funk to keep me coming back to see if it would come around, but it never did.
February 18, 2011 - Light red-purple color. Some stony weediness on the nose. Plums, cherries, celery, and earth on the palate. Well-balanced, light, smooth, and delightful. I've had several '07 "generic" burgundies, but this is the only one I've truly enjoyed.
February 14, 2011 - Translucent, nearly clear at the rim. A little funk blew off quickly. Strawberry and cranberry on the nose, albeit weak. Floral. The palate is watery strawberry at best. A little grippy on the mid-palate, which makes the transition to the short finish terribly awkward.
November 13, 2010 - fresh soil and sod on the nose, light-bodied, elegant, cranberry, soda water and strong mineral on the palate, solid acid backbone, dry, opens up with air, could cellar, was decent match with steak filet, nice complexity for price
July 24, 2010 - To me, this is very anti-burgundy in style, more resembling a similarly priced Oregon Pinot Noir. Could use a little more weight at midpalate but for the price ($19) this. Is fairly decent.
June 24, 2010 - Apperently with this vintage Nicholas is gone. They are "working with very old parcels and very old vines." 80% of the grapes are coming from the "Volnay, Auxey Duress, Marages" and a couple of others.
60% oak of 1 year and then three year old oak. Light, spice and a lith. Very nice aromatics. Stylish.
April 10, 2010 - Tasted but notes not kept.
March 11, 2010 - Too light for me. Another failed experiment with inexpensive burgs. Would drink a glass a day and just did not want more. The only notable impression that it showed it's best on the day 4 of bottle being open.
December 31, 2009 - No formal notes taken since we drank this on New Year's Eve. A very nice and light Pinot Noir with lots of fruit.
