Community Tasting Notes 1

June 7, 2009 - Dinner at Bern's steak house. Took sommeliers recomendation and tried this in a half bottle. Fill level was bottom neck. A real eye opener. The wine was in perfect condition. sound cork, Garnet in color, moving towards brown. Soft fruity nose, which faded a bit over the hour or so it was in the glass. I expected the wine to be thin but it was still all there. Finish was a bit short but it was an amazing wine. There is always a bit of luck with older bottles, even if they a kept in perfect condition but it is sure is a treat when everything comes together. A good producer from an excellent vintage, stored properly, can result in a unique experience. Was this "Magic in a bottle"? No, but it was a really cool glass of wine.
