March 14, 2021 - 2005 Fontanafredda Barolo (Piedmont)
Medium garnet with a complex aroma of prune, leather, smoke and tar. Intriguing taste medley of cranberry, black tea and cured meat. Just imagine a roadkilled, grappa soaked, Versace satchel (man purse) filled with prosciutto and Parmigiano rendered into your glass of Ocean Spray cocktail (yes, I did forget my medication this morning). Beautifully balanced with soft oak and amazing length. A memorable wine at its peak now. Roll out the Barolo, we’ll have a Barolo of fun. Definitely a fine foil for food but also a Nebbiolo for drinking solo. -

March 20, 2020 - I agree with DINAMARCA's notes below. The wine has lost its tannins and most of it's fruit. It's still drinkable but it's definitely on it's last legs. Color is slightly fading brick color with a short finish.

January 27, 2020 - Supermarkedsbarolo, som - trods sine 15 år - kan drikkes. Udemærket, let reserveret næse. Lidt roser, violer, lakrids og champignon. I munden er vinen blød og helt uden tanniner. Frugten er næsten væk og forekommer mig derfor lidt astringent og kantet uden at være decideret dårlig. Drink op nu.

January 2, 2015 - Quelle réussite! Fruits confits et merises au nez at ouvrant sur un vin à son meilleur. Un pur délice avec un ragoût l'accompagnant à merveille.
