February 22, 2018 - Preferred this 2007 Foxen Sea Smoke over the Foxen SS 2006 we drank yesterday. More nose. Full, ripe, bright fruit. A little pepper.

December 25, 2017 - Still delicious in year 10. May not develop further but should still be good for several years.

September 3, 2017 - A great wine and it is nuanced today as it was years ago. It is running even with the Sea Smoke mothership. The dark berry fruit and dark cherry with a tinge of smoke. Good stuff Maynard. My last bottle and sorry to see it go.

October 19, 2016 - Still great and still better than the mother vineyard effort. Like the slogan says, "If you don't know Foxen, then you don't know Dick, or Bill". Great SoCal Pinot. A Pinot for Cab lovers nuance that you can sink your teeth into. Berry and beef it is very good juice.

November 15, 2014 - Still drinking great. Took about 20-30 minutes to open up, interesting complexity for a full bodied pinot -- last of six that I had and wish I had more and wish I had ignored the guidance that 2015 was the end of the recommended drinking window.

November 30, 2013 - PMcCullough: dark, rich and yummy. Tannins have softened nicely and the results is a well balanced wine with moderate complexity. Wish I had more.

November 22, 2012 - Beautiful dark fruit on the nose, and a lovely acidity on the palate. Nice long finish. Earthy mouthfeel. Perfect with our Thanksgiving dinner of roast chicken.

July 23, 2012 - This tastes very similar to a Sea Smoke Southing to me. It's all about the fruit - lots of cherries and berries.

June 23, 2012 - Deep, dark red fruit (black cherry) with forest floor and spices. Incredible balance - maybe a little hot on the end. Dark cherry, chocolate, earth, on the palate. No rush on drinking this, but it is delicious now.
