April 7, 2024 - Still young and excellent: dark fruit, peppery, prunes. Was developing with each glass, and the next day.

September 28, 2022 - Nose m int, earth, red cherries, pipesmoke, thyme, leather, violets
Palate some woodgrain to go with aforementioned cherries (dried now), hint of walnut, fennel, wet leaves, perhaps fading a bit, m v fine tannin, m+ acidity, ALC not even noticeable for 14.

February 3, 2018 - I really enjoyed this wine. The nose is black cherry and licorice. Very nice structure and well balanced. Long dry finish. Ready to drink now, but I think it will continue to improve over the next couple of years.

January 18, 2014 - Nose: black cherry nose and a little spice, taste: leather licorice teeny but of Spice, still decent amount of tannins.. Needs more time (maybe 2-3 more years). Berry, spicy, tannic finish

Rather soft entry on the palate for a 2004 brunello. But the palate then comes through with grip and tannin. Nice intermingling of the aging and the fruit character on the wine.

May 8, 2010 - Landmark Wines and Producers (Italian Wine Merchants, NYC): Not sure it is really fair to judge this wine at this point in its life, but I'm going to anyway. Ruby red in color. The nose was very reticent at first, but after some coaxing a black cherry core came alive and gave up some licorice, tobacco and some really funky sandalwood notes as well. The palate is closed for business as the acids and tannins are way out of balance at this point. There is some underlying fruit there, but I have no experience with this producer to say if/when this thing will come together.

April 1, 2010 - Had at a restaurant. Decanted for 45 minutes and served in Eisch breatheable. Very dark in the glass. Flowery fruit on the nose. Nice fruit in this right through the finish. Still a bit tannic but got better in the end. Probably could have used a little more air time.
