October 24, 2014 - Fizz & Fish @ Master's (Master's Super Fish, Waterloo): Again, quite rounded. A touch oxidative too. A little flatter than the Pol. Less rounded fruit. Tasty and with some interest. ***1/2

December 31, 2011 - Ringing in the New Year (Los Gatos, California): Carrying over the 2002 Champagne theme from a tasting today, this is how we chose to start the New Year's eve celebration. Pale and very alive. This bottle was absolutely consistent with past experiences-pure, light, fresh Chardonnay fruit, very dry, long, stony finish. Terrific! Wish I had more as it has not budged at all since its release a few years ago-will go on for a long while.

February 18, 2011 - Pale, mineral, precise. delicate and light. Dry but not austere. Excellent.

October 31, 2010 - This was my cup of tea! A light bright golden color. A complex and maturing clean nose of hazelnuts, butter and some smokiness. The palate is dry and vibrant high acidity. Autolytic flavors combined with the chalky minerality beautifully. This wine is not about the primary aromas like the Boulard I had. The warmth of 2002 sticks out as well as the purity and gentle interplay between the acidity and fruit. Outstanding! This Vertus is ready now but I won't doubt it will evolve more.
